What is Domain Parking?

Domain parking is one of the truly greatest sources of passive income. Although not as much as a few years ago, is still a very lucrative business and one of the internet's best kept secrets.

What is domain parking?

A very simple and accurate definition of domain parking consists in the purchase of domain names for the sole reason of "parking" them.  A parked domain is a web page that only shows ads, somethings Google AdSense type ads.  Since it goes against Google AdSense TOS to have have web pages that only show ads, parked domains need to be hosted with a domain parking company.

Is there risk in domain parking?

There is very little risk associated with this activity.  While each domain costs about $9 a year to register, there are domain name registrars that let you test domains and delete them within a 5 day grace period for a small fee.  Currently the so called deletion fee is about $1.  If you decide to delete (return) the domain, you get the remainder of the money credited back into your account allowing you to just repeat the process.  You can test as many domains as you want at a time, and just keep the ones that are going to pay their yearly registration fee in parking revenue.

Where to park domain names?

While you test your domain names for revenue, and after you decided which domains to keep, you must park these domains with a parking company.  There are many to choose from, and all you have to do is run a Google search for "domain parking" to get a list of a few of them..

Once you find and sign-up with a domain parking company, all you have to do is point the nameservers of the domain to those of the parking company and add the domains to your account.  The entire process takes a few minutes.

Most parking companies will supply you with a range of options to help you customize the look and feel of your parked domain in order to increase the CTR (click-thru rate) on your ads.  The higher the CTR the higher the revenue you will be able to achieve.  It will also be possible to pick a keyword for your parked domain.  The choice of keyword must be relevant to the topic of the domain and will be one of your most important choices.  It will influence both your CTR and the value of each click.

What is Duodenal Ulcer and How to Diagnose?
