Why 30 Day Affirmations Fail and 40 Day Programs Succeed

Affirmation means to make firm by repetition. Repetition is the heartbeat of affirmation. It is not just the mother of learning; it is also the mother of mastering any skill and making it permanent. Whatever you affirm, you re-affirm and whatever you re-affirm you confirm. Affirmation is a version of positive faith confession aimed at reprogramming your mind for personal success. Your affirmations are powerful tools for personal development, self-direction and self-achievement. It is an integral part of the law of meditation. You only affirm principles or programs you know is true; otherwise your rational (conscious) mind and your unconscious (subconscious) mind will be at conflict thereby negating the manifestation of your desire or whatever you are programming for your life. Your mouth must agree with your head and your head must line up with your heart.

Although psychologists have theorized that it takes 21 days to form a habit, but this seem to have a high failure rate. Thirty days seem to get better result. However, the best result is achieved when affirmation is extended to forty days. This is the subject of this affirmation article.

Jack Canfield in his book "The Success Principles" asserted that affirmations take 30 days to work. Yet we have noticed high failure rate with 30 day affirmations. Why is it so? The answer is found is the open secret of divine success: the Holy Bible. Like Albert Einstein said, "tell me the mind of God and all other things are details."

In the supernatural and in this life, timing can be everything. Time is the stuff of life and laws of life are the laws of success. Time is a capsule containing a series of events. Thirty day affirmations are 10 days short of 40 and that's why 30 has a higher failure rate when compared to 40. In the Bible, God uses 40 (days, weeks or years) when he decides to make major changes or transitional periods. The number 40 stands for periods of transformations, trial, testing, and probation.

For instance, the life of Prophet Moses who wrote the first five books of the Bible was divided into three segments of forty years. The firs 40 years was development and maturation. The second 40 years of his life was for processing and training. The last 40 years was for reigning or leadership. Moses also spent 40 days without food in Mount Sinai when he received the 10 commandments from the Lord. Noah's flood lasted for 40 days. The Children of Israel wandered 40 days in the wilderness before they made it to the promised land. It seems that we need 40 days before we make it to the land of promise. Prophet Elijah also went to Mount Sinai on the strength of food he ate 40 days previously to meet the Lord. The Lord Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights before He was tempted by the devil in the wilderness. After the resurrection, the Lord waited for 40 days on earth before He ascended into heaven. The period of full term pregnancy in humans is also 40 weeks.

Yes, it takes 40 days to imprint the message or program your spiritual hard-drive for change and manifestation of results to occur. Otherwise you get partial result or no success. This is the reason why most 30 day affirmations or positive confessions fail because it is not long enough to imprint automatic behavior that power success.

Uzo Onukwugha comes back to discuss affirmations. Consistent practice of affirmation "make firm" the most important ingredient in your success recipe. Whatever you affirm, you re-affirm, reinforce and enforce as such the greater imprint you have for your success to settle in your deeper mind. The more likely you are to materialize whatever you are programming for your life.

What is Duodenal Ulcer and How to Diagnose?

The condition referred to as Duodenal Ulcer is one that typically announces itself as a sharp, severe pain in the upper part of the abdomen (the Epigastrium), appearing when a person is hungry and the stomach is empty. Essentially, duodenal ulcers are caused by too much acid in the stomach; when the acid proves too strong for the protective inner lining of the duodenum (the part where the stomach joins the small intestine), it starts, in effect, burning a hole in the stomach wall. It is this crater, or ulcer, which results in pain, particularly when there is no food inside the stomach to use up the acid that is being produced. Patients who develop duodenal ulcers usually tend to get relief from their pain by taking some milk, bland food or antacid tablets (like milk of magnesia), which can neutralize the excess acid. The danger of duodenal ulcers is that they erode the stomach wall - either perforating (so that the contents of the stomach leak out into the abdominal cavity) or erod
